Jean Marion Kurcaba

Jean Marion Kurcaba, 89, of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Sundale Nursing Home surrounded by her loving family. Jean was born in Saxton, PA, on July 28, 1928, to Milton and Delilah Moore Rhodes. She was one of eleven children. Jean’s passion was cooking and her family which she dedicated her life as a homemaker. Those who visited Jean’s home never left hungry. Jean is survived by her two sons, Jeffrey Kurcaba and wife, Yvonne, and Gregory Kurcaba and wife, Karla; grandchildren, Lindsay Bailie and husband, Daniel, Karry Kurcaba, Misty Brambach and Chantel Liberty; great grandchildren, Jaxon Ryder Bailie, Bryn Aubrey Bailie, Sutton Jean Bailie and Amerissa Brambach and Christopher Hensel. She also had an extended family which she cared for deeply. In addition to her parents, Jean was preceded in death by her husband, John Kurcaba; brothers Jack Rhodes, Marvin Rhodes, Dan Rhodes and Harold Rhodes; sisters Ruth Rhodes, Doris Hawn, Martha Wingate, Pauline Black, Betty Black and Catherine Johnson; and granddaughter, Aubrey Deuesenberry. Jean’s family would like to thank Sundale Nursing Home staff and hospice for all of their love and caring. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Monday, July 30, 2018, from 10 until the time of service at 12 noon with Father Biju T. DeVassy officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
