Jeffrey Karl Jarvis, 56, of Morgantown, WV, passed away on Monday, July 21, 2025, at Ruby Memorial Hospital.

Jeff was born on June 30, 1969, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ken and Rosie Jarvis. He loved reminding everyone that he was the oldest child.

Throughout his life, Jeff lived in Utah, Oregon, Nevada, Texas, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, and California. He graduated from Morgantown High School in 1987 and then attended West Virginia University on a track and cross-country scholarship, where he graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in 1992.

Jeff loved music, both listening and playing, and passed that love onto his talented daughter Sydney. He played trumpet in the Morgantown High Marching Band and played guitar in several bands with friends throughout his life.

He also loved spending time outdoors, especially mountain biking during the years he spent in California.

In recent years, Jeff owned Jarvis Contractor Construction Services and loved the creative process of remodeling homes and building decks.

He is survived by his daughter, Sydney Jarvis; parents, Ken and Rosie Jarvis; and siblings Julie (Erik) Egan, Adam Jarvis, Amy (Dan) Hoppie, Margo (Kevin) Dixon, and Jill (Jess) Hawkins.

He was preceded in death by two siblings, Matthew Jarvis and Emily Jarvis; and grandparents, Karl and Revo Jarvis, and Wendell and Mary Glines.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.
