John Patrick Dailey

John Patrick Dailey, 72, of Grafton, passed away on February 14, 2026.

John was known for his kind heart, warm presence, and the deep love he had for his family and community. He maintained close ties throughout the area, including nearby Morgantown, and will be remembered for his generosity, his stories, and the many memories he shared with those who knew and loved him. He graduated from Morgantown High School and from Monongalia County Vocational and Technical School.

He will be especially remembered for his deep pride in his Shawnee Native American ancestry. John was a great teacher of traditions and enjoyed sharing knowledge of crafting and cultural practices with his family and others, leaving a lasting impact on those who learned from him.

John is survived by his beloved wife, Ella Jane Eddy Dailey; two sons, Aaron Dailey (wife, Jessica) and Patrick Dailey (wife, Michelle); one daughter, Jessica Richardson (fiancé, TJ Snider); his sister, Barbara Dailey; and his brother, Bill Dailey. He was a proud grandfather to Chance Dailey, Abigail Gower, Elizabeth Dailey, Mason John Dailey, Jamison Richardson, Ella Richardson, Dakota Richardson, and Alex Richardson.

He was preceded in death by his son, William Stephen Richardson.

Hastings Funeral Home graciously took care of the final arrangements.

John’s legacy is one of love, devotion to family, and sharing traditions that will continue through the generations. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
