June Coombs

June B. Coombs, 83, of Canyon Road, Morgantown, passed away Friday, June 19, 2009 at Health South Rehabilitation Center in Morgantown, WV.

June was born in Monongalia County on November 3, 1925, the daughter of the late John L. and Sarah Rebecca Chipps Barnes.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Morgantown. June was a graduate of Morgantown High School with the class of 1942. She belonged to several area bridge clubs as well as the Suncrest Garden Club.

She is survived by her husband, William H. Coombs, Sr., a son, Larry Prince and wife Donna of Morgantown, a daughter, Rebecca F. Glenn and husband Stan of McMurray, PA, 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and a sister, Helen Stemple of Morgantown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Walter Prince and her second husband, Charles Fix.

Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 5-8pm on Sunday, June 21, and from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am on Monday, with Rev. Al Cooper officiating.

Interment will follow in East Oak Grove Cemetery, Morgantown.
