Lawrence Allen Gary

Lawrence Allen “Larry” Gary of Morgantown, WV, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on April 16, 1955, in Marlinton, WV, Larry lived a life dedicated to service and kindness, leaving a profound impact on all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A graduate of Buckhannon-Upshur High School, Lawrence embodied the values of hard work and dedication throughout his life. He worked as a self-employed custodian, a role he approached with great pride and commitment. His work primarily served local churches around Morgantown, where he became a familiar and friendly face. Lawrence was regarded as a good man, known for his warmth and his ability to connect with everyone he encountered.

In addition to his professional dedication, Lawrence had a passion for fishing. His love for the outdoors mirrored his gentle spirit and appreciation for the simple things in life.

Lawrence leaves behind his loving wife, Mary Ann Gary; daughter, Cathy Joseph and her husband, Edward; grandsons, Zackrie and his wife, Tiara, Tyler and his wife, Amy along with their daughter, Isabella; as well as his many siblings and extended family in Buckhannon and throughout West Virginia and Ohio.

He was predeceased by his parents, James and Annabelle Gary, along with several siblings and extended family.

Larry will be remembered for his friendly demeanor and kindness, as well as his commitment to his community.

Cremation arrangements have been entrusted to Hastings Funeral Home.

A Celebration of Life will be planned for a later time.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made through donations to the family to assist them in the coming days.
