Lewis Saul Yoke

Lewis Saul Yoke went home to be with the Lord on April 21, 2016, surrounded by his family. Lewis was born December 4, 1930 in Morgantown, WV; the son of the late James N. and Elizabeth Leblanc Yoke. Lewis was a veteran of the U S Army with 21 years of service and served with the 201st Field Artillery. He also worked for the Mountaineer Bus lines and WVU bus lines. Lewis enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and junk collecting. Lewis is survived by his loving wife Nancy (Huggins) Yoke whom he was married for 55 years. Also survived by four daughters and spouses, Cindy (Gary) Glaser, Jenny (Doug) Sankbeil, Ruth (Terry) Hart and Roseann (Jeff) Bolyard; seven grandchildren, Michael (Karrie) Helmick, Robert Graham and companion (Shelly), Charles Ray (Dannean) Smith, Jamie (Matthew) Bryan, Janna (Joshua) Adams, Ben (Heather) Davis and Haden Kennedy; four great-grandchildren, Cheryssa and Drake Helmick and Judah and Josiah Adams. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings, Jack Yoke, Norris Yoke, Opal Lang, Lillie Garrett and Pearl Caudill. The family would like to thank Mapleshire Nursing Home staff and Hospice Care Corporation for their exceptional care. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, Sunday, April 24th from 1-5 p.m. Visitation will continue on Monday, April 25th from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Rev. David Spence officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his honor to Hospice Care Corporation, 3363 University Avenue, Morgantown, WV 26505.
