Linda Walker

Linda Marlene Walker, 63, of Brookhaven, formerly of Booth, WV, passed away Friday, December 31, 2010, after a long battle with kidney disease, at Madison Nursing & Rehabilitation Center.Linda was born in Morgantown on August 4, 1947, a daughter of Richard Carpenter of Kimbolton, OH and the late Nellie (Greenleaf) Carpenter. She was employed as a cashier at Sabraton Exxon before her long illness with diabetes. Linda was also an avid bingo player and loving mother and friend.In addition to her father, she was survived by her three children, Terry Nicholson, Ron Mathess and wife, Lisa, and Danny Mathess and wife Michelle, all of Morgantown six grandchildren, Derek McMillen, Britnee Mathess, Stephanie Mathess, Ashlee McMillen, Ally Mathess, and Emily Mathess four great grandchildren, Kohlee Taylor, Aden McFarland, Kayleigh Morgan, Kaden Blaney, and baby McMillen due in April. She was also survived by four brothers, Rick Keener, Rick Carpenter, Jeffery Carpenter, and Rodney Carpenter and one sister Barbara Zuponcic.She was preceded in death by her grandmother Rosie Greenleaf and brother Ray Keener.Friends were received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown on Tuesday, January 4th from 4 PM until the time of the funeral service at 6 PM with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Following the service, Mrs. Walkerâs request for cremation was honored by her family.Memorial contributions may be made to Morgantown Dialysis Center, 19 Commerce Dr. Westover, WV 26501.
