Lloyd Kent Jones

Lloyd Kent Jones, 92, of Tarzana, CA, formerly of Morgantown, passed away Monday, September 12, 2016 at Cedars-Sinai Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Kent was born May 28, 1924 in Fairmont, WV, son of the late Lloyd and Edith (Dunmire) Jones. Kent was an active achiever and adventurer, always on the search for new ideas. During his 20+ year career as VP of Sales at Sterling Faucet, Kent invented the single handle faucet called the Gemini in early 1970’s. His passion for innovation led him to hold patents for over 8 new product items. Kent was an active member and past President of the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Kent loved to travel and enjoyed visiting places and people both at home and abroad. He never knew a stranger; he became friends with everyone he met. In his recent years, he enjoyed genealogy research, and was able to locate and meet with many family members that he had previously never met. Kent is survived by his loving wife of 38 years Dalia (Ben-Amitai) Jones; 3 daughters: Jennifer A. Jones, Christine (Jones) Garrison, Lorraine (Jones) Alvarez; step-daughter, Dafna Ben-Anath; grandchildren: Yvonne Burns, Stacey Taft, Steven Clawges, Tyler Spacht, Ryan Clawges; great-grandchildren: Felicia Burns, Erica Burns Henry, Jayden Martin, Ashtin Nesselroad, Reese Preset, and Zander Preset; and great-great-grandchildren: Paisley and Paxton Wickham. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deborah K. (Jones) Clawges. Friends and family will be received Friday Sept. 16th at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., from 6-8 pm, and again on Sat. Sept.17th from 11am until the time of the service at 1 pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
