Loretta Belle Croft

Loretta Belle Grubb Croft, 81 of Morgantown went to serve the lord on Wednesday, September 28th, 2016 at her son’s residence. She was born in Morgantown, September 12, 1935; the daughter of the late Roy B. Grubb and Gladys I. (Frankenberry) Grubb. Loretta was an avid member of the Harner Chapel U.M.C. and loved singing in the choir. Loretta loved serving the lord and was a certified Lay Leader for more than 40 yrs. Loretta and her husband were one of the co-founders of CAM-ROCK Enterprises Inc., where she enjoyed working and meeting people for over 30 years. She loved gardening, camping, and being in the great outdoors. She also loved babysitting her granddoggie Anni and most of all cheering for her beloved “Mountaineers”, Steelers, and Pirates. Loretta is survived by her loving children: daughter Karin J (Croft) Comp and son William G Croft, both of Morgantown; also 2 sisters: Louise Clarke of S.C. and Margaret (Peggy Ann) Myers of Michigan; 2 brothers: Roy E. Grubb of Mississippi and Donald C Grubb of N.C.; lots of nieces and nephews; and many brother in- laws and sister in-laws. In addition to her parents, Loretta was preceded in death by her beloved husband Willian K (Buckstove Willy), Terry Comp (son in law), 4 brothers, and 1 sister. The family would like to give thanks to the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center and the 5th fl. nursing staff at Mon General Hospital. Thanks to WV Caring, formerly Hospice Care. The family would also like to give a special thank you to David Hoover RN, and Flecha Knotts, for the loving and gentle care that they gave to our mother. Friends and family will be received, Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016 at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., from 1-5pm and again Monday Oct.3, 2016 at Harner Chapel U.M.C., 100 Luckey Ln, Morgantown, from 10am until the time of service at 11am with Pastor Lynda Masters officiating. Interment will follow at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
