Olive Gennoy, 98, of Morgantown, WV, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2016. She was born, Luna "Olive" Taylor on January 31, 1918 in Masontown, WV. She was a daughter of the late Hattie Olive Shaffer and Russell Taylor. Olive was a homemaker, later working at WVU’s Arnold Hall for many years before becoming a Visiting Homemaker until her retirement in 1980. Family meant everything to Olive. She loved cooking and baking for her family. An avid flower and vegetable gardener, Olive also enjoyed going on camping trips, vacations and day trips with her family and friends. Olive, a Methodist, was a woman of great faith, who was known strength and comfort, especially during times of adversity. Her love, strength and resilience will live on in her family. Olive is survived by her daughter, Donna Sue “Susie” (Gennoy) Enoch and her husband Jim; Two granddaughters, Beverly (Willard) Pratt and her husband, Jim; Kathy (Willard) Osburn; Granddaughter through marriage, Vickie Willard; Grandson, Eddie Gennoy; daughter-in-law, Connie Gennoy; Granddaughter through marriage, Christy Gennoy; Grandson, Ken Enoch; and niece, Connie (Taylor) Edgell and her husband, Calvin; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, all of Morgantown, WV. She was preceeded in death by her husband, Thomas B. Gennoy in 1966; Three brothers, Glenn, Lawernce and Delbert Taylor and their spouces; Daughter, Shirley “Emogene” Willard and her husband, Willis “Willie” Willard; Son, Willard Edgar Gennoy; Grandson, Richard “Rick” Willard; Grandson, Jeffrey Scott “Jeff” Gennoy; Granddaughter, Patricia “Patti” (Willard) Bille. Very special thanks to Betty Jo Weber of Weber Personal Care Home and Ruby Livingood for their loving and devoted care. Thank you to Star City Hospice Care for being their during Olive’s time of need. Olive’s family will receive visitors at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St. Morgantown from 5-8 p.m., on Friday, July 1, 2016; and from 10 a.m-11 a.m., on Saturday, July 2, 2016 with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating.
