Marcelle Molinari, 91, passed away Friday, November 21, 2025 at her home in Morgantown. She was born September 8, 1934 in Haute Savoie France, a daughter of the late Amedee and Marie (Blanc) Compois. She was a twin born among 9 siblings raised in the French alps during World War II. Raised in a time of war and scarcity she was a selfless survivor and mountaineer through and through.

She began her working career as a midwife’s assistant in Cluses, France where she met her future husband and developed a lifelong passion for taking care of people. She married the late John Molinari, and they immigrated to the United States in 1966 with their two sons. They took up residence in Johnston, Rhode Island where she lived for over 50 years. She was an outstanding cook and hostess and loved sharing her culinary delights with family and friends.

Marcelle has been in Morgantown since 2016 and is a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. In her free time, she most enjoyed the little things in life and in particularly she looked forward to visits from her many great grandchildren, especially the infants (les petits). She was always up for a cup of coffee and had a bit of a sweet tooth she liked to share. She enjoyed her two cats and was always filled with a deep sense of love for nature and all forms of life.

She is survived by her son, Serge Molinari and his wife Cindy; grandchildren, Katie Padula (Patrick), Michelle Thrasher (Cody), Stephen Molinari, Lawrence Boudreaux, and Michael Molinari; great grandchildren, Luke, Caroline, Samuel, Nicholas, John, George, Mariana, Henry, Walter, Bernard Marcel, Arden, Clementine, Pennington, and Paisley; daughter-in-law, Kelly Molinari; siblings, Françoise Boutellier, Marie-Claude Ducret, and Beatrice Arrandel. She is also survived by her dearest friend, Cheryl Vargas and her goddaughter, Katie Vargas Arriaza.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Molinari; son, George Molinari; grandson, Gianni Molinari; and siblings, Alberique Compois, Regina Clerici, Christian Compois, Pierrette Dutruel (her twin sister), and Liliane DeGuio. 

A funeral mass will be held at St Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 1 Guthrie Lane, Morgantown on Tuesday, November 25th at 10:00AM with Msgr. Anthony Cincinnati, S.T.D. as celebrant. Interment at Fairview Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St Francis de Sales (Miriam Garden), 1 Guthrie Ln, Morgantown, WV 26508 or Habitat for Humanity (current build in Sabraton, WV) 1825 Earl L Core Rd, Morgantown, WV 26505.
