Marie K. Kidd

Marie K. Kidd, 93, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026. She was born on October 11, 1932, in Henry County, Virginia to the late Kermit Keys and Lucy (Walker) Keys.

Marie worked at the WVU Health Sciences Library as an administrative assistant for 23 years, making lifelong friends. Marie was a member of Spruce St. United Methodist Church, as well as a life member of the Service League of Morgantown and P.E.O Chapter B of Morgantown.

She loved spending time with her family and loved ones and puttering in her garden. Marie’s warm presence and gentle nature left a mark on all who knew her.

Marie is survived by her son, Kenneth (Dee); her daughters, Carolyn and Leigh Anne (Chris); her brothers, Eugene Keys, Allan Keys (Penny), and Larry Keys (Kathey); her sister, Faye (Joe); as well as six grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Kidd; grandsons, Sean and Matthew; brother, David Keys; and sister, Ann Arrington.

Marie’s life was a testament to family, love, and her faith. Her legacy continues through the countless lives she touched and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no public service. A private family service will be held at East Oak Grove Cemetery with Rev. Bart Thompson officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations in Marie’s memory may be sent to Spruce St. United Methodist Church, 386 Spruce St, Morgantown, WV 26505.
