Mary Margaret Allen

Mary Margaret "Peggy" Allen, 85, of Morgantown, passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2026. She was born August 24, 1941 in Morgantown, a daughter of the late James and Ruth (Taylor) Madden.

Mrs. Allen was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a 1959 graduate of Morgantown High School. She retired from NIOSH after many years of service. In her free time, she enjoyed camping and being a loving, supportive grandmother.

She is survived by her children, Robert Johnson (Vanessa), John Johnson, and Tammi Adams (Dan); grandchildren, Zachary Johnson (Megan), Robbie Johnson (Megan), Brittani Wilson (Tyler), Corey Adams, Dyllan Johnson (Ashley), Skylar Johnson, Brooke Wilson (Justin), John Johnson, Jr., and Jimmy Johnson; and great grandchildren, Freya, Delaney, Bella, Carter, Rhett, Lorelei, Miley, Charlee, Huntley, Memphis, and Blakley.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Leroy Allen, in 2020 and six siblings.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 367 Dents Run Blvd, Westover, WV 26501.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Sunday, September 20th from 12:00- 6:00. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Monday, September 21st from 10:00 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jeff Huggins officiating. Interment will take place at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens in Westover.
