Mary Stump

Mary Edna Stump, 90, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the residence of her daughter, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Morgantown on March 22, 1927, the daughter of the late Gary Lee Linger and the late Leila Flowers Linger. She was Nazarene by faith and attended the Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church. Mary worked for Irene Twigg at Northside and Southside coffee shop of Morgantown and at Big B on University Avenue in the produced department. Mary is survived by two sons; Gaylord “Butch” Stump, Jr. and his wife, Susan of Morgantown, and Larry Stump of Masontown; daughter Janet Forbes of Masontown with whom she made her home; sister Geraldine Bubnick and her husband, Joe of Paola, MO, and two brothers; Clark Linger and his wife Jerry of Morgantown, and Roger Linger and his wife Kay of FL; 9 grandchildren, Bucky and Marlene Forbes, Michael and Melissa Forbes, Jennifer and Ben Goff, Marlena and Ron Sloan, Todd and Jennifer Forbes, Marcy and Mike Cornell, Wesley and Jennifer Stump, and Bryan Stump; 14 great-grandchildren, Travis Forbes, Amberlee Forbes, Logan Forbes, Bryce Forbes, Ryan Forbes, Anna Goff, Everett Goff, Alyvia Stump, Jordan Sloan, Blake Sloan, Austin Forbes, Aaron Forbes, Chayce Cornell, and Conall Stump; and 2 great-great-grandchildren, Laykin and Nevaeh Forbes. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gaylord Hayward Stump, Sr.; daughter, Karen Forbes; sister, Betty Champine, brothers Charles Linger and Roy Linger; son-in-law, Randy Forbes; and a grandson, Richie Forbes. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 10 AM to 12 noon, the time of the service with Pastor Craig Faulkenstine officiating.
