Michael Paul Dalton, Jr.

Michael Paul Dalton Jr., 36, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 14, 2026 at his home. He is the son of Kendra Joanne Shaw (Wolfe) and the late Michael Paul Dalton Sr. 

Michael was born on March 1, 1990. He graduated from Morgantown High School and was a veteran in the US Army. After serving his country in the reserves, he gained experience in a diverse range of work, including the pipeline industry where he held the position of line inspector. He also worked at Precision Hydraulics which was a job he really enjoyed . Prior to that, Michael worked for a short time at Walmart and Dunkin’ Donuts. 

Michael was a jack of all trades as he loved to tinker with anything electrical. He loved tearing things apart just to see how they worked. He was a very skilled musician and could sit at virtually any instrument and play it by ear. He even taught himself how to read music. His favorite instruments to play were the mandolin, guitar, and keyboard. 

Additionally, in his free time Michael enjoyed reading, fishing, and spending time with his beloved cats, Akimbo and Gandalf. Michael had another cat named Magik which he adored as well. His friend Misty Ledsome is taking care of Magik. Michael enjoyed spending time with his family playing games and just hanging out. He was on a mission, with his sister Gabriella, to find the perfect chicken wings in Morgantown! Michael was a sweet and gentle soul who wore his heart on his sleeve and would do anything for anyone in need, often ignoring his own needs to help others. He will always be loved so dearly. 

Michael is survived by his mother, Kendra, and her husband, William Bruce Shaw, of Morgantown; his sister, Gabriella Shaw; his brother, Dakota Tylor Dalton and his wife, Jacqueline Cheyenne Dalton; their children Andi Raelynn Dalton and Eric Jurnee Dalton; his daughter, Violette Nova; his oldest sister, Angelica Nicole Shaw and her children, Raven Storm Shaw and Summer Rain Shaw; his aunt, Christine "Chris" Thompson and uncle, Johnny Thompson; as well as Gabriella Shaw‘s boyfriend, Daniel "Leroy"  Scott Myers; and other dear family members. 

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Michael Paul Dalton Sr.; his grandparents, Linda (Pixie) and Delbert (Bobby) Dalton of Morgantown; his uncle, James (Dobbin) Allen Dalton; his grandmother, Nellie (Sue) Josephine Butler; uncles, James (Jim Bo) Miller Butler and Robert (Bob) Thomas Butler of Morgantown; maternal great-grandparents, John (Jack) and Bessie Butler of Morgantown; grandfather, Lloyd Spencer Wolfe of Blacksville; his uncle, Mitch Maxon and aunt, Karen Sue Maxon of Morgantown; and several other beloved family members.

Michael's family is planning a memorial service to honor his life at a later date.
