Michael Lee Hines

Michael Lee Hines,53, of Morgantown, stepped beyond the rain Sunday, July 9, 2017 at his residence. He held his wife's hand until he took Jesus’ hand. He was born in Morgantown, on August 29, 1963, the son of the late Phillip Blaine Hines and the late Eva Dolly Hines, and his second dad the late Perry McCarty. He was a member of Brookhaven United Methodist Church. He worked for 22 years for WVU in food service. He was the best Pap ever, and enjoyed spending time with his family and cheering on the Mountaineers. Michael is survived by his wife, Penny Hines; children, Thressie Bishop and her husband, Joshua, and son, Dyllan Hines and his girlfriend Ceranda Jones; two grandchildren, Caleb Hines and Veyda Bishop; and brothers and sisters, Becky Mercer, Ronnie Hines, Kathy Switzer, Marlene McCarty and Johnny Hines; and sister n law, Robyn Smith; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmy Hines; grandmother, Thressie B. Kirk; his precious niece Crystal Weaver; nephew, Benjamin Switzer; and best friend, Jeff Schell. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Thursday, July 13th from 5-9 PM and on Friday, July 14th from 10 AM until the time of the service of 11 AM with Pastor Janice Smith and Father Andy Switzer officiating.
