Michael Ray âMickeyâ Malone, 66, of Apolla Dr., Morgantown, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2009 at his residence.Michael was born in Morgantown on February 3, 1943, a son of the late Earl D. and Edith M.3 Howell Malone.Survivors include his children, Annesia Y. Shelton and husband Roger of Harperâs Ferry, WV, and Michael P. Malone and Shannon M. Schultz and husband, James, all of Pittsburgh, PA step-sons, Lee McElroy and wife, Jeannette of Westover, Scott McElroy and wife Becky of Fairmont his grandchildren, McKenzie and Maxwell Shelton and James âTripâ Schultz, III step-grandchildren Katy and Hunter McElroy and his sister, Nancy Malone Floyd and husband, Tom of North Carolina and many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Janetta âJanâ Ammons McElroy Malone on July 2, 2009.Michael graduated from West Virginia University in1966 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Physical Education. He retired from the Federal Bureau of Prisons, Department of Justice, where was the Supervisor of Education. He was an active member of the Goshen Baptist Church, whose hobbies included golfing, hunting, fishing, gardening / landscaping, antiquing, ceramics and woodworking.Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown is providing cremation services to the family.Friends will be received at the Goshen Baptist Church, 1070 Goshen Rd., Morgantown from 11 AM until 12 Noon on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2009. A Memorial Service will then be held at 12 Noon Tuesday in the church with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the East Oak Grove Cemetery.
