Michael Savasta

Michael Savasta, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2014, at his home. He was born in Morgantown on June 17, 1925, the son of the late Peter Joseph Savasta and Anna Marie (Scire) Savasta. He was a lifelong member of St. Theresa's Catholic Church. Michael was a veteran of the U. S. Navy having served during World War II. Michael is survived by his wife of 63 years, Mabel M. Reed Savasta; son, Michael J. Savasta of Morgantown; daughter, Sandra K. Kirby and husband, Frank of Daniels, WV; grandchildren, Michael P. Savasta and wife Traci of Morgantown, Christopher R. Kirby of San Diego, CA, Allyson F. Kirby of Hurricane, WV; great-grandchildren, Branden H. and Michael T. Savasta of Morgantown. In keeping with Mr. Savasta's wishes cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. A private family inurnment will be held at Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens at a later date.
