Neal Correll Eakin

Neal Correll Eakin, 85, of South Park PA, formerly of Route 73 Morgantown, WV died on January 8 2017 surrounded by loving family. Neal was born December 11, 1931 in Morgantown, WV, the son of the late Neal Eakin and Virginia Correll Eakin. Neal was a graduate of Morgantown High School in 1950. A retired coal miner and railroad worker, he will be remembered for his incredible work ethic, his bright smile, and his “Hillbilly” wit. When not working to support his family, Neal could be found cutting grass, splitting firewood, or helping family, friends, or his church. As devoted to his faith and his church as he was his family, Neal was a member of Johnson Chapel United Methodist Church. Neal is survived by his daughter Dorinda Kibler of Pittsburgh PA, daughter Donella Rae Eakin of Bethel Park PA, brother Joseph A. Eakin of Oldfield WV, grandson Chris Lewis and wife Anne of Upper St. Clair PA, grandsons Matthew and Clayton Eakin of Morgantown WV, and two great-grandchildren Patrick and Lucille Lewis. In addition to his parents, Neal was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Geraldine Graham Eakin, his sister Catherine Kuzniar, and son Gerald Dale Eakin. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home at 153 Spruce St. Morgantown, Wednesday, January 11th from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Visitation will continue Thursday, January 12th from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Brad Bennett officiating. A Private Burial will be held at Pisgah Cemetery, Rt.. 73, Morgantown.
