Norma Maxine Myers

Norma Maxine Myers, 95, of Cheat Lake died at 1:35 p.m., Sunday, April 17, 2016, at the Mapleshire Nursing Home. She was born December 19, 1920, in Frankfort, Indiana; a daughter of the late Ernest and Goldie Morgan. Norma was a member of the Cheat Lake United Methodist Church. She worked at Morgan Shirt Company for over thirty plus years as a supervisor where she retired. She enjoyed sewing, camping, fishing and traveling but her greatest joy in life was her family. In 1939, she married Gilbert “Gib” Myers who preceded her in death in 2006. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, one sister and one great grandson. Surviving are one son: Billy Myers and wife Barbara; two daughters, Brenda Dawson and husband Melvin; Sharon Whipkey and Jack; seven grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren, five great, great grandchildren and one sister. The family would like to send a special thank you to the staff and management of Mapleshire Nursing Home. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Wednesday, April 20th from 3-8 p.m. and on Thursday, April 21st from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. with Rev. Stanley Merrifield officiating. Burial will follow at the Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens.
