Patricia Jean Bowers

Patricia Jean Bowers, 70, of Cheat Lake, passed away unexpectedly on the morning of February 20, 2017 at Allegheny General Hospital. Patty was born in Morgantown, WV on June 24, 1946 daughter to the late Clyde William and Marjorie Jean (Addis) Horton. Patty graduated from University High School in 1964. She lived a life full of camping, fishing, playing cards, bingo, cheering on the Mountaineers and Steelers, and spoiling her 3 English Setters: Kelly, Molly, and Penny. Patty was a supportive military wife during Jim’s multiple deployments, and a selfless, abundantly loving mother to Emily. She always put others before herself and made everyone feel welcome in her home. Jim and Patty were married for 50 years and shared many adventures together, including living in Alaska for 17 years. She is survived by her husband Jim Bowers; daughter Emily Jean Bowers-Kogut and husband, Dan Kogut; brother, Larry Horton; and multiple cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death and numerous aunts and uncles. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Thursday, February 23, from 3-8pm, and again on Friday, February 24, from 12pm until the time of the funeral service at 1pm with Pastor Andrew Burd-Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover.
