Dr. Paul T. Daniell, 60, of Morgantown, passed away on October 12, 2019, at his home. He was born on October 5, 1959, in New York City and raised in Eastern Long Island, a son of the late Dr. Paul L. and Marilyn (Butman) Daniell. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a BS in Chemical Engineering and obtained his MS and Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from WVU. He worked for Union Carbide and Dow for many years in research and development. After his retirement from Dow, he joined the faculty at Marietta College where he discovered his love of teaching, achieved tenure, and won the McCoy Teaching Excellence Award. In 2018, he joined the faculty in the Department of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering at WVU and was recently inducted into the Academy of Chemical Engineers Hall of Fame. His hobbies included astrophotography, golf, baseball, Mountaineer sports, and spending time with family and friends, particularly playing games where he was a fierce competitor. Paul is survived by his wife, Debra, his sons Benjamin and Joshua Daniell, and his stepdaughters Erica Bailey (Bradley) and Amber Rowe (Philip). He was preceded in death by his first wife, Michele Daniell, and his adopted brother, Billy. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to support the research of Ankylosing Spondylitis at www.spondylitis.org. Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Friday, October 18 from 4-7 p.m. A funeral service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Dr. Rev.
