Rebecca "Becky" Lynn (Fowler) Hoyt

Rebecca (Becky) Lynn Fowler Hoyt, age 62, passed away quickly Monday, November 28, 2016, at her home in Morgantown. WV. She was born June 30, 1954 in Morgantown, WV. The daughter of Charles Elmer Fowler and Sarah Ann Fowler of Morgantown, she is survived by her husband, Jerrey Hoyt, her father Charles E. Fowler, her children Michael J. Hoyt Sr, Steven A. Hoyt, Barbara Lenard, and David W. Hoyt (Susan), grandchildren David, Aaron and Samantha Lenard, and Taylor, Lindsey, Michael J Jr and Katherine L Hoyt, and one great-grandchild. She also is survived by her siblings, Margaret Taylor, Robert (Vicki) Fowler, and Becky’s twin Thomas (Denise) Fowler, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Fowler, her uncle Paul Fowler and her aunt Helen Frankenberry. She and Jerrey were married in Morgantown, WV and celebrated their 34th anniversary this year. The Rev. Charles (Snork) Roberts performed the ceremony. Becky graduated from University High School and Morgantown Beauty Academy and first was a beautician for many years, next a hostess at Etchings Restaurant, then The Director of Emergency Services for the American Red Cross of the Mountain Laurel Chapter and finally business manager for Chelyne’s Dar Care. While at the Red Cross she received numerous service awards. She was loving wife, mother and grandmother, plus a famous cook, seamstress and friend. She was a cherished and active member of St. Thomas a Becket Episcopal Church in Morgantown where she served as Senior Warden, chair of the Fellowship Committee, member of the Outreach and Special Events Committees and a founding member of Crafty Ladies. Visitation will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. A celebration of her life will be held at St Thomas a Becket Episcopal Church on the Old Cheat Road at 1 PM on Friday, December 2, 2016 with The Rt. Rev. Matthew L. Riegel officiating with graveside rites immediately following at The Forks of Cheat Baptist Church. . Becky is remembered as a beloved wife, daughter, sister, friend and tireless community worker, hostess as well as for her unceasing humor, kitchen skills and problem solving.
