Richard Queen

Richard Howard Queen, 76, of Morgantown, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at Martha's Manor. He was born December 22, 1936 in Morgantown, a son of the late Howard W. Queen and Freda McKinney Queen. Mr. Queen worked for the Monongalia County Board of Education as a school teacher for Morgantown High School for over 25 years. He had previously attended the Spruce Street United Methodist Church and served in the Civil Air Patrol. Mr. Queen is survived by one son, Mitchell H. Queen of Morgantown; sister-in-law, Debbie Queen; niece and nephew, Melody Funk and Todd W. Queen; and long time companion and friend, Shirley Harvey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Charles E. Queen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Monongalia County Humane Society, PO Box 390, Morgantown, WV 26507-0390. Visitation for Mr. Queen will be from 6-8 pm on Friday, May 24, 2013 at the Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown.
