Rita Kennedy

Rita Jean Kennedy, 82, of Morgantown, passed away Monday, August 2, 2010, at Sundale Nursing Home. Rita was born in Morgantown on July 8, 1928, the daughter of the late Harry and Rella Opal (Province) Twigg.She attended Riverside Apostolic Church as well as First Apostolic Church. She was deeply spiritual and always took care of everyone else. Some years ago she had a Christian TV show called âSowing the Wordâ she lived her Christian faith every minute of every day. She formerly worked as a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She is survived by her children William David Kennedy and wife Patricia, Kathy Diane Clendenin and husband Bert, her grandchildren Michelle McCormick, Jaime King and husband Jammie, Ryan Kennedy and Kerry Kennedy, great-grandchildren, Skylar McCormick, Taylor McCormick, Mackenzie McCormick, Jordan McCormick Cody King and Chase King, her brother, David Earl Twigg and wife Felicia.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Kees Kennedy in 2004, her in-laws David W. and Mary Kennedy and her sister-in-law, Barbara Kennedy.Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 4-9pm on Thursday, August 5, and from 12pm â" 1pm. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday, August 6, at 1:00 pm with Rev. David White officiating. Burial will follow in Mt.
