Robert David Means (Bob), 44, of Huntington, WV passed away Tuesday July 22, 2025. He was born in Morgantown, WV June 8, 1981 to the late Sarah (Goodwin) Means and William Conrad (Rad) Means Jr.
Bob is survived by his spouse, Amanda Jones Means and their daughters, Reagan Elizabeth and Bailey Adaline Means, as well as his sister, Patricia Desmuke and her children, Abigail, Zachary, and David Desmuke.
Bob grew up in Mount Morris, PA. As a child he overcame a difficult battle against cancer. He participated with Boy Scouts and made some lifelong friendships. After moving to Fairmont, WV, he finished Junior High School and graduated from East Fairmont High School. Bob then answered the call to serve and joined the Army Reserves.
Following the devastating attacks on 9/11, Bob was part of the 459th bridge building crew that entered Iraq to construct the first float bridge that was constructed under fire since WWII. Shortly after returning from deployment he met Amanda and the two were married on February 18, 2007. They moved to Richlands, VA for 8 years where Bob worked in IT. While living in Richlands, he received his Bachelor's of Science in Computer Information Systems from DeVry University in 2010. After being too far from family they moved back to Beverly, WV. Bob and Amanda adopted two beautiful twin daughters who love him dearly. Although many people were unaware of his struggles, Bob fought ongoing battles with depression, PTSD, and alcoholism. Sadly these battles drove him away from his family where he ultimately lost the fight.
Bob will be missed greatly here, but we will find comfort in the hope that he is now at peace.
