Ronald William Cosner

Ronald William Cosner left this world on the 2nd of September 2026 at the age of 87.

Ron was born on June 6th, 1939. Ron was born in Wildell, WV and moved to Morgantown during childhood.

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Sheila Arlene Cosner, his daughter Sherry Cosner-Marentay, his son-in-law and his 4 grandchildren. His children Ronnie and Diana have passed and are him on with him other side.

After graduating from University High in 1958, he enlisted in the military where he was a paratrooper in the 101st Airborne. While in the service, Ron jumped out of planes and he continued long after his discharge, logging 483 jumps.

After the military and marriage, Ron and Sheila moved from WV to multiple states including Indiana, Illinois, Ohio and Pennsylvania. Ron worked in the vending business and moved up from service into management. He also had his own brick laying business in Columbus, Ohio. His last job landed them back into the Morgantown area where they have been ever since. In his retirement he focused on woodworking and created many grandfather clocks.

He also played guitar and would sing at family reunions and church events. Ron’s personality was larger than life and he will be greatly missed.
