Ronald Figiel passed away on August 2, 2026, at his residence. Ron was born November 5, 1947, in Wyano, PA, to Bernard Figiel, Sr. and Elizabeth (Andriechack) Figiel. He was the youngest of four children and was doted on by his siblings. As a youth, he played baseball and in rock-and-roll bands around Morgantown.
In 1963, Ron met the love of his life, Sandra Helmick, while they were in junior high school. They married in 1967 and recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on July 21st. He enjoyed motorcycles and antique cars. He loved working in the yard and tinkering around his shop on Pleasant Hill Rd, where he was the owner and operator of Components Repair.
Most of all, Ron was known for his big heart. He adored his family. He never stopped telling his grandchildren how wonderful they were and how proud he was of each of them. He had a special place in his heart for his Yorkies, Tessa and Maddie, and Charlie the Goose.
Ron loved the Lord deeply and missed attending Cheat Lake Community Church due to his declining health. Ron will be missed every single day by his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra; their son, Ron Figiel II and his wife, Kelly; two grandsons, Dylan Figiel and his wife, Alyssa, and Nicholas Figiel; one granddaughter, Elizabeth Figiel; one brother, Bernie Figiel; three sisters-in-law, Jeri Figiel, Dixie Petro, and Terry Jones; many beloved nieces and nephews; special friends of more than 50 years, Ken and Pam Youst; friends Randy Kline and Chad Matheny.
Ron is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mae Figiel and Betty Garletts; sister-in-law, Patricia Cyphert; and four brothers-in-law, George Garletts, Edward Cyphert, Richard Petro, and Richard Jones.
The family would like to thank hospice nurses Courtney, Barb, Jennifer, and Autumn for their care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you either take your own family out to dinner or donate to a church of your choice in Ron's name.
Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, on Saturday, August 8th from 10:00am until the time of the funeral service at 12:00pm with Pastor Dan Meadows officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
