Roy Thomas

Roy "Orlando" Thomas, 89, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, November 20, 2011, at Sundale Nursing Home."Orlando" was born in Oneida, TN on December 15, 1921, the son of the late Reason and Mary Thomas.He was Baptist by faith. He attended Berea College in KY he graduated from University of TN and received his PhD in Dairy Sciences from Michigan State. He was a professor at WVU in the Department of Agriculture. He was a major in the U.S. Air Force. He loved hunting, fishing and working with farm animals and was a member of the Isaac Walton League. He is survived by his wife, Willa Thomas, a daughter, Lee- Ann Thomas sisters, Mary Lou Parrott of Knoxville, TN, Chrystal Hart of Little Rock, TN and Grayson Thomas of Onieda, TN. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jim Carl Thomas in 1967 during Vietnam War, and a brother, Maynard Thomas. In honoring âOrlandoâsâ wishes, cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. The cremains will be sent to West Murley Funeral Home in Oneida, TN for burial.
