Ruby Marie Howdershelt Anderson

Ruby Marie Howdershelt Anderson, 86, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, January 17, 2016, at Sundale Nursing Home. She was born in Preston Co. on December 30, 1929, the daughter of the late Louise Howdershelt Garlitz and step-father, Clarence A. Garlitz. Ruby was a wonderful sister, wife, mother, grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed cooking especially known for her butterscotch pies, crocheting, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. She is survived by her children; Robert C. (Joy) Anderson, Deborah L. (Roger) McGinnis and David L. Anderson; grandchildren; Sean (Tharon) McGinnis, Melissa (Scott) Nestor, Amanda (Michael) Roe, Jared (Kristina) Anderson and Whitney Anderson; great-grandchildren; Matthew, Hunter, Spencer, Riley, Kalea, Kanna, Iris, Harry, Brayden and Evan; brothers; Clarence M. "Buck" (Bonnie) Garlitz and Thomas L. Garlitz; Special sister-in-law, Susie Boring who kept in constant communication with her. Also she is survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by, her husband, James W. Anderson, daughter, Jean Anderson Knopp, brother, William "Bill" Howdershelt. Family and friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, Thursday, January 21st from 3-5 and 7-9 pm. Visitation will continue on Friday, January 22, from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11a.m. with Pastor. Charles May officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
