Samuel “Sam” Judson Hall, 96, passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital Sam was born April 3, 1923, in Westover, the youngest of six children, born to the late J. Ramer and Anna L. Hall. He is the last survivor of his immediate family. Sam graduated from Morgantown High School in 1940 and married his beloved wife, Catherine Rebecca Hall, July 26, 1941. Sam worked as Parts Manager for Floyd Johnson Desota Plymouth and Haines and Haines, Equipment Supervisor for Baker and Coombs. He purchased Morgantown Battery in 1960 and operated the business and served the Morgantown area for 18 years. In 1978, Sam and Becky moved to Lake Placid, Florida, where Sam worked for Endicott Builders. Sam was a long time member of the First Baptist Church in Morgantown and later was confirmed in the Trinity Episcopal Church in Morgantown. He devoted 26 years in developing and building St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Lake Placid, FL. Sam served as Jr. and Sr., Warden, Acolyte Chalice Bearer, Choir Member, Lay Reader, Licensed Eucharist Minister and was a liaison for contracting work done in the Church. He was a Charter Member of Lake Placid Rotary, a 32nd Degree Mason, a Paul Harris Fellow, and a Charter Member Lake Placid Yacht Club. Sam is survived by his three sons and wives, Jarrett R. Hall (Paula), David S, Hall (Donna) of Morgantown, and William B. Hall (Kathy) from Lakewood, Colorado; two grandchildren, Jarrett (Jack) Ramer Hall, II, (Riki) of Morgantown, Kim Hall Foust, (Gary) of Lakewood, Colorado, three great-grandchildren Amy Hall, (Fiancé Tanner Cain), of Morgantown, and Jacob and Amanda Foust, of Lakewood, Colorado. The family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional and loving care provided, as Sam spent his last year at Windy Hill Village in Kingwood and extend their heartfelt gratitude to both the ED staff and Acute Care Unit at Mon Health Preston Memorial Hospital. Cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home/Omega Crematory. Graveside committal service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery on Wednesday, June 26, 2019, at 11 a.m., with Pastor Junius Lewis officiating.
