Sara Nelle Smith

Sara Nelle Smith, 89, Dorsey Ave., Morgantown, passed away Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Monongalia General Hospital. She was born in St. Marys, WV on May 1, 1927, the daughter of the late Asa Chester and Sue Mary (Kelley) Rogers. Sara worked as a bookkeeper for the Coca Cola Bottling Company for 27 years and retired from Auto Parts as their bookkeeper in 1989. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Sara was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Smith, one brother, Robert C. Rogers and one sister, Dorothy Dumire. Sara is survived by her children, Blaine A. Forman of Morgantown, Michael B. Forman and wife Patti of Canal Winchester, OH; Step-son, Vernon J. Smith of Reedsville, WV; grandchildren, Tracy Pavalok and husband Randy, Kerry Kidder and husband Josh, Kristy Kelley and husband Terry, David Forman and wife Angela, Danielle Moore and husband Chris and James L. Smith; great grandchildren Dylan and Kaden Pavalok, Miles Kidder, Tyler and Taylor Kelley, Palmer Forman, Andrew Haley, Kohen and Isabella Smith and Wesley and Wyatt Moore; one sister, Helen Stacey of Fairmont, WV. Friends and family will be received on April 1, 2017 at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown from 9am until the time of service at 11am with Pastor Amanda Reed officiating. Interment will follow in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Morgantown.
