Sharon Marlene Pillai

Sharon Marlene Pillai, 67, passed away on Sunday, January 25, 2026 at Ruby Memorial Hospital. 

Born in Morgantown on October 31, 1958, she was a dedicated wife and mother, as well as an accomplished nurse who earned her bachelor’s degree from West Virginia University and served in roles in pediatric intensive care, home health, and teaching. 

Sharon loved reading, fashion, hosting events, and spending time with her family and friends. She was always the funniest and best dressed person in the room. 

She is survived by her loving husband Kumar, daughter Jaya, nephew Shawn, and the tribe of cherished friends who also became her family. Her spirit of strength, loyalty, kindness, honesty, wit, and style touched everyone who met her and lives on in our hearts. 

In keeping with her wishes, no funeral services will be planned. A celebration of her life will take place at a later date.
