Sherry Pauley

Sherry Del Pauley, 58, of, Morgantown, passed away Monday evening, December 5, 2011, at Monongalia General Hospital.Sherry was born in Morgantown on November 12, 1953, the daughter of the late Delmar and Phyllis Jean Federer Pugh.Sherryâs story is a sad one- diagnosed in early middle age with an inoperable heart condition, she spent the last fifteen years of her life defying and overcoming the long shadow cast upon her. On three separate occasions she expired, only to be miraculously revived through the heroic efforts of emergency responders. At different times she was in and out of various hospitals, rehab centers and nursing facilities from Morgantown to Charleston. Her life at home was mostly spent suspended in a reclining chair day and night. Yet through it all she loved her husband, Franklin, and he loved and stood by her resolutely to the end. Their marriage has been a remarkable testament to the power of commitment put to the ultimate test. She is survived by her husband, Franklin Pauley of Morgantown and one brother, Larry Pugh of Stewartstown. Friends will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown, from 4-7pm on Friday, December 9, and on Saturday, December 10, from 9am until the time of the funeral service at 10am with Pastor Andy Hawkins officiating. Interment will follow at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
