Spencer Turner

Spencer O. "Sonny" Turner, 84, of Morgantown passed away March 5, 2019 at Mon Health Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born the son of the late Odis and Ruth (Spencer) Turner. A Navy Veteran, he served in San Diego and on the USS Coral Sea. He later retired from West Virginia University's Purchasing Department after 34 years of service and was an avid gardener and wood crafter. Spencer is survived by his wife, Marian (Stankos) Turner; two children, Shelly Rodriguez (husband Jose) and Michael Turner (wife Michiru), two granddaughters, Elizabeth and Maria Turner; his siblings, Dean Turner and Janet Schlobohm and several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce St., Morgantown from 5-7:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2019. A private graveside service will take place later at East Oak Grove Cemetery.
