Virginia Lee Gyorko

Virginia Lee Gyorko, 89, of Morgantown, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026, at Mon Health Medical Center. She was born on May 25, 1936, a daughter of the late Joseph Thomas and Helen Louise Aitken.

Virginia devoted her life to caring for her husband, Alex Gyorko, who courageously battled multiple sclerosis for many years. Her steadfast love, strength, and dedication to her family were evident to all who knew her.

She is survived by her two sons, Alex “AJ” Gyorko and Joseph Gyorko and his wife, Marcella.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her loving husband, Alex Gyorko.

A graveside service will be held at East Oak Grove Cemetery, 1291 Dorsey Avenue, Morgantown, on Wednesday, February 25, at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor John Sommers officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Morgantown Hospice, 3596 Collins Ferry Road, Suite 250, Morgantown, WV 26505.
