Willard Eldon Myers

Willard "Will" Eldon Myers, age 84, of Morgantown, passed peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, with family by his side, into the arms of Christ. Will was born in Morgantown on January 5, 1939, son of the late Luther and Leah Myers.

He spent 50 years as a volunteer fireman in Rivesville, WV and Glencoe, OH. His first job was a florist delivery man. He was a coal miner for 12 years. He worked at WVU as a custodian for 12 years, where he met Barbara, his wife of 28 years.

Will was devoted to God and family, loved playing cards and dominos, working in the garden and workshop, hunting, and spending time with his dogs.

In addition to his parents, Will was preceded in death by a brother William Myers and sister, Vivian Myers.

In addition to his loving wife, Barbara, he is survived by children, Danny (Bonnie) Myers, and Penny (Ron) Shriver; stepchildren: Richard (Kathy) Thompson, Johnny Thompson, Tina (Lonnie) Huskey, and BJ (Joe) Mitchell; 13 grandchildren: Christian (Cassie), Cheyanna, Leah (Jon), Steven (Justine), Richard (Robin), Betty, Danny, Kristen, Jackson, Joshua (JoAnna), Jonathan (Jourdan), Joey, and Zachary; 13 great grandchildren: Raelynn, Warren, Bennett, Olivia, Lillian, Taeshaun, Serenity, Raeshad, Raya, Gwen, Caroline, Dominic, Lucy and special cousin, Paul and Donna Frum.

We thank WVU Hospice for all their loving care, especially Autumn, Jennifer and Amber.

Friends and family will be received at Hastings Funeral Home, 153 Spruce Street, Morgantown, on Friday, February 3rd from 11:00 am until the time of the funeral service at 1:00 pm with Pastor Kevin Cain officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be made in Will's memory to Kingdom EMC Church, 540 Fairmont Road, Morgantown, WV 26501.
