Willis Gordon Hileman

Willis Gordon Hileman, 85, of Bruceton Mills and formerly of Ripley, WV, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at Harmony at Morgantown. He was born on March 23, 1935, in Bruceton Mills, the son of the late Troy Benton Hileman and Martha Jane (Benson) Hileman. Willis graduated from Bruceton Mills High School in 1954 and went on to serve in the US Army from 1954-1956. He then worked more than 35 years as a millwright for the Kaiser Aluminum Factory in Ravenswood. Willis grew up on a dairy farm just outside of Bruceton Mills, where he learned his tremendous work ethic. He was always quick to help anyone that needed help and could fix just about anything. During his time in Ripley, he was a long time attendee of Calvary United Methodist Church. He is survived by his sons, Stan Hileman and wife, Patti, and Mike Hileman; grandchildren: Stephen, Mark, Emily, Katherine, Michael and Robbie; siblings: Jean Radabaugh, Milton Hileman, Linda Staddon, and Jim Hileman. In addition to his parents, Willis was preceded in death by his wife, Mable (Cook) Hileman; daughter, Rose Hileman; brothers, Robert Hileman and Leland Hileman; and a sister, Peggy Hess. The family would like to thank all the staff at Harmony who were so wonderfully caring. They also wish to thank his very special friend, Helen Guthrie, of Connellsville, for her companionship, love, and support. Graveside services will be held at Jackson County Memory Garden, Ripley, on Monday, June 8, 2020, beginning at 1:00 p.m., with Pastor James Cooley officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Willis’s memory to Morgantown Christian Academy.
